The Veterinary Technician National Exam
The Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) is a computer-based exam administered by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). The VTNE is used to assess the competency of veterinary technicians/technicians (VTs/TAs) seeking credentialing in the united states
The VTNE consists of 170 multiple-choice questions that cover the following content areas:
-Anatomy and Physiology
-Clinical Pathology
-Dental Hygiene
-Medical Nursing and Support
-Nutrition
-Pharmacology
-Surgery
-Zoological Nursing and Management
To become certified, candidates must first graduate from an accredited veterinary technology program.
