The Application Process

Georgia Tech’s holistic admission process considers all aspects of each applicant’s background, experiences, and competencies — academic and personal. We encourage you to apply to Georgia Tech early in your senior year so that we may consider you for the fullest range of opportunities. Our online application becomes available in early August, and we begin making admission decisions in mid-October.

To complete the undergraduate application for admission, all applicants must submit:
-A completed online application including the $75 non-refundable processing fee
-One letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher
-Official high school transcript(s)
-Official scores from either the SAT or ACT. Georgia Tech will accept both official test scores from the testing agency or self-reported SAT/ACT scores included on the application. Please note that students who are offered admission and choose to enroll at Georgia Tech will be required to submit official test scores prior to enrolling.

In addition, some applicants will also need to submit:
-An essay on a chosen topic
-Official AP/IB/dual enrollment transcripts (if applicable)
-Proof of English proficiency (if English is not your first language)
-Additional materials required for homeschooled applicants or those who have attended certain international schools
