What You Need to Know About the Exam

The pharmacy technician certification exam (PTCE) is a computer-based exam administered by Pearson VUE. You must pass the PTCE to become a certified pharmacy technician. pharmacy technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent and must have completed a training program or have at least 1 year of experience working as a pharmacy technician.

The Exam Format

The Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) is a computer-based exam administered at Pearson VUE testing centers nationwide. The PTCE is taken by prospective pharmacy technicians who wish to become certified and registered with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
