Google

Google is a multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware.

Search Engine

Google is a California-based technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware. Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University in California. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares but control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through supervoting stock. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. An Initial Public Offering (IPO) took place on August 19, 2004, and Google moved to its headquarters, the Googleplex, in Mountain View, California.

Gmail

Gmail is a free email service developed by Google. Users can access Gmail on the web and through mobile apps for Android and iOS, as well as through third-party programs that synchronize email content through POP or IMAP protocols. Gmail started as a limited beta release on April 1, 2004 and ended its testing phase on July 7, 2009. At launch, Gmail had an initial storage capacity offer of one gigabyte per user, a significantly higher amount than competitors offered at the time. Today, the service comes with 15 gigabytes of storage.

Android

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google. It is used by several smartphones and tablets. Android is based on the Linux kernel and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android’s user interface is mainly based on direct manipulation, using touch gestures that loosely correspond to real-world actions, such as swiping, tapping and pinching, to manipulate on-screen objects, along with a virtual keyboard for text input. In addition to touchscreen devices, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Wear OS for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on notebooks, game consoles, digital cameras, and other electronics.

Android has the largest installed base of any operating system (OS) and as of May 2017 thegoogle Play Store featured over 3 million apps.

Chrome

Chrome is a free and open-source web browser developed by Google. It was first released in 2008, for Microsoft Windows, and was later ported to Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. The browser is also the main component of Chrome OS, where it serves as the platform for web apps.

Google releases new versions of Chrome frequently; the most recent stable version is 87.0.4280.66, released on November 17, 2020. The previous version was 86.0.4240.75, released on October 20, 2020.

Chrome features a minimalistic user interface, with its user-interface principles later being implemented into other browsers. For example, the merging of the address bar and search bar into the omnibox.[12] Chrome also has a reputation for strong browser performance (including JavaScript processing).

Amazon

Amazon is one of the world’s largest online retailers and they are also a major provider of cloud computing services. Amazon has been in the news recently for their plans to acquire Whole Foods for $13.7 billion. This would give Amazon a huge brick-and-mortar presence and would make them a major player in the grocery business.

Amazon Web Services

AWS is a cloud platform that offers compute, storage, and networking services to customers around the world. It is one of the leading providers of these services, and its customer base includes some of the biggest names in the tech industry

AWS offers a wide range of services, all of which are designed to make it easier for businesses to operate in the cloud. Its core services include compute, storage, and networking, and it also offers a range of other services such as database, analytics, and security.

AWS is constantly expanding its service offering, and it has recently launched a number of new services such as Amazon Athena (a data warehousing service), Amazon Aurora (a relational database service), and Amazon EKS (a managed Kubernetes service).

Kindle

Amazon’s Kindle is a line of e-readers that was first released in 2007. The device allows users to download and read digital books, magazines, and other content. Kindle devices are available in several different sizes and feature different capabilities, such as the ability to play music and movies.

Messenger

Messenger is a messaging app that allows you to easily connect with the people you care about. With Messenger, you can send and receive messages, photos, videos, and audio messages. You can also group chat with up to 50 people.

Instagram

Instagram is a social networking app made for sharing photos and videos from a smartphone. Similar to Facebook or Twitter, anyone who creates an Instagram account has a profile and a news feed. When you post a photo or video on Instagram, it will appear in your followers’ feeds.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp, a cross-platform messaging app that enables easy communication between users, is one of Facebook’s most popular acquisitions. WhatsApp allows users to send text messages, voice messages, images, video, and GIFs through the internet. The app also supports group chats of up to 256 people and end-to-end encryption for all communication. WhatsApp has over 1.5 billion monthly active users as of February 2018.

Apple

Apple is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. The company’s hardware products include the iPhone smartphone, the iPad tablet computer, the Mac personal computer, the iPod portable media player, the Apple Watch smartwatch, the Apple TV digital media player, and the HomePod smart speaker. Apple’s software includes the macOS and iOS operating systems, the iTunes media player, the Safari web browser, and the iWork productivity suite.

iPhone

The iPhone is Apple’s flagship product and one of the most popular smartphones on the market. The latest iPhone model is the iPhone 7, which was released in September 2016. The iPhone 7 features a new design, a better camera, and improved performance compared to previous models.

iPad

The iPad is a tablet device from Apple that allows users to perform a variety of tasks, including browsing the web, checking email, playing games, and using a variety of productivity and creative apps. The iPad has been a hugely successful product for Apple, with sales consistently outpacing those of competing tablets from other companies.

macOS

Apple’s macOS is a proprietary operating system that runs on Apple’s Macintosh line of computers. It is the successor to the original Mac OS, which was first released in 1984.

While macOS is based on the Unix operating system, it has a number of features that set it apart from other Unix-based systems. Perhaps the most notable of these is its graphical user interface (GUI), which was developed specifically for the Macintosh and remains one of its defining features.

Other notable features of macOS include its support for multitasking, pre-emptive multitasking, and virtual memory; as well as its support for a wide range of hardware peripherals and software applications.

Since its debut in 1984, macOS has been released in a number of different versions, each of which has added new features and functionality to the operating system. The most recent version, macOS Sierra, was released in 2016.

iCloud

iCloud is a cloud storage and cloud computing service from Apple Inc. launched on October 12, 2011. As of 2018, the service had an estimated 850 million users, up from 782 million users in 2016.

iCloud enables users to store data such as documents, photos, and music on remote servers for download to iOS, macOS or Windows devices, to share and send data to other users, and to manage their Apple devices if lost or stolen. The service also provides the means to wirelessly back up iOS devices directly to iCloud, instead of being reliant on manual backups to a host Mac or Windows computer using iTunes. Service users are also able to share photos on an opt-in basis with any other iCloud user.

iCloud offers 5 GB of free storage space to all users with the option of purchasing additional storage space. When a device is backed up in iCloud, historical backups are stored in such a way that they take up less space than the current backup while still retaining the ability to restore the device to its most recent state.
