The GPA Requirements for Transfer Students

In order to be considered for admission, transfer students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. However, competition for spots in our incoming class is fierce, and the average GPA of admitted transfer students is usually higher than the minimum GPA required for admission.

-2017: 3.49
-2018: 3.51


There is no minimum GPA required for admission to Virginia Tech. However, the average GPA of incoming freshmen is a 3.7. To be competitive for admission, you should aim for a GPA of at least a 3.5.
