They play their home games at historic Sanford Stadium on the university’s Athens, Georgia, campus. Georgia’s head coach is Kirby Smart, who began his tenure in 2016. The Bulldogs have won two National Championships (1920 and 1942), thirteen SEC championships (1933, 1942, 1946, 1948, 1959, 1966, 1968, 1976, 1980, 1981, 1982, 2002, 2005), and have made forty-eight bowl appearances since beginning play in 1918. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represents the Georgia Institute of Technology in the sport of American football. The Yellow Jackets team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The school has produced two Heisman Trophy winners, four number one NFL draft picks, and more than a dozen consensus All-Americans. The team is known for its prolific passing attacks as well as its defense, which is ranked among the best incollege football.
Key Players
Quarterback Jake Fromm and running back D’Andre Swift are the Bulldogs’ key players on offense. Fromm completed 205 of 314 passes for 2,630 yards and 24 touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also ran for six touchdowns.
Georgia Tech
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are the athletic teams that represent the Georgia Institute of Technology, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Yellow Jackets participate in the NCAA’s Division I and in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Georgia Tech is one of 14 schools to participate in the ACC’s Coastal Division.

1.1 Kirby Smart
Kirby Smart is the current head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs football team. He was hired on December 6, 2015, to replace former head coach Mark Richt.
Smart has been described as “an excellent recruiter with a knack for developing talent”. He was ranked as the No. 1 assistant coach in the country by 247Sports in 2016. In his first season as head coach, Smart led the Bulldogs to an 8-5 record and a trip to the Liberty Bowl.
Key Players
Quarterback Justin Fields (#1) from Harrison High School in Kennesaw, GA is one of the most highly recruited prospects in football history. He was a 6A All-State selection as a junior and senior. As a senior, he was named Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the state of Georgia. He compiled 4,187 yards of offense and 54 touchdowns in his senior season. He originally committed to play at Penn State University before transferring to The University of Georgia.
Running back D’Andre Swift (#7) from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadelphia, PA was a 5-star recruit coming out of high school. He was ranked as the #2 running back and #17 player overall in the class of 2017 by 247Sports Composite Rankings. As a junior at UGA, he rushed for 1,049 yards and 10 touchdowns while also catching 32 passes for297 yards and 3 touchdowns. He decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft where he is projected to be a first-round pick.
