The virginia tech Hokies football team represents Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. The Hokies compete in the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference and play their home games at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia. They are currently coached by Justin Fuente.

Virginia Tech’s Bowl History
Virginia Tech has a long and storied history when it comes to bowl games. The Hokies have played in 27 different bowl games in their history, dating back to the 1948 Orange Bowl.Virginia Tech has an all-time bowl record of 16-11, with their most recent appearance coming in the 2019 Camping World Bowl.
Some of Virginia Tech’s most notable bowl appearances include the 1995 Sugar Bowl, the 2000 Orange Bowl, and the 2007 Orange Bowl. In each of those three appearances, the Hokies faced off against Florida State, one of their biggest rivals. In the 1995 Sugar Bowl, Virginia Tech came away with a victory, defeating Florida State 46-29. This was a huge win for the program and helped solidify their status as one of the top programs in college football.
The 2000 Orange Bowl was another big game for Virginia Tech, as they again faced off against Florida State. This time, however, the Seminoles got the better of the Hokies, winning 46-29. The 2007 Orange Bowl was a rematch of sorts, as Virginia Tech once again took on Florida State. This time around, it was the Hokies who came out on top, winning 44-10. This win was especially sweet for Virginia Tech fans, as it avenged their losses in the previous two meetings between these two teams.
