It was a thrilling game that saw Georgia Tech come back from a 17 point deficit to force overtime. The win was especially sweet for Georgia Tech fans, as it ended a 3 game losing streak to Georgia.
The Last Time Georgia Tech Beat Georgia
In 1998, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets beat the University of Georgia Bulldogs, 46-29. The victory was a turning point in the long-standing rivalry between the two schools.
Since that game, the Yellow Jackets have gone on to win three more games against the Bulldogs. In 1999, they won 38-35 in a game that went into overtime. In 2000, they won 28-14. And in 2008, they won 45-42 in another overtime game.
The most recent meeting between the two teams was in 2016, when Georgia Tech lost 28-27.

It has been quite some time since Georgia Tech has had a victory over their biggest rival, the University of Georgia. The last time these two teams played was in 2016, when Georgia came out on top. However, the 2017 season was different. Georgia Tech put up a good fight, but ultimately lost 28-7.

The Georgia Tech Football team represents the Georgia Institute of Technology in the sport of American football. The Yellow Jackets team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the national collegiate athletic association (NCAA) and the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Georgia Tech has produced two Heisman Trophy winners, four number one NFL draft picks, and prolific quarterbacks such as Joe Hamilton.
