Football

Georgia Tech has 3 national championships in football. The first one was in 1917, the second in 1928, and the third in 1952.

NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision

As a member of the NCAA’s Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), georgia tech competes each fall for a spot in one of college football’s prestigious bowl games. The Yellow Jackets have made 27 bowl appearances, compiling a record of 15-10-2 (.598). Tech has won three national championships (1917, 1928, 1952) and 13 conference championships.

Conference Championships

Georgia Tech has won 9 conference championships in its history. The most recent came in 2014, when the Yellow Jackets won the ACC Coastal division. georgia tech has also won 2 national championships, in 1917 and 1990.

Men’s Basketball

Georgia Tech has won 3 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships. The first championship was in 1917, the second in 1952, and the most recent in 1990. The championships were won under different head coaches: John Heisman, Bobby Cremins, and Bruce Pearl.

NCAA Division I

Georgia Tech has won four NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships. The Yellow Jackets have also been to 11 Final Fours, including seven in a row from 1985 to 1991.

Conference Championships

In addition to the 4 National Championships, the Georgia Tech men’s basketball team has also won 18 conference championships. 9 of those have come in the ACC, 3 in the SEC, 3 in the Southern Conference, 2 in the Metro Conference, and 1 in the MCC.

Women’s Basketball

Georgia Tech has never won a national championship in women’s basketball.

NCAA Division I

The NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament is an annual college basketball tournament for women. Held each spring, the tournament features 64 teams in a single-elimination format. The Final Four, the semi-final and final rounds of the tournament, is usually held during the first weekend in April, and is considered the most important weekend of the year for women’s basketball.

The georgia tech yellow jackets have appeared in the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament fifteen times. Their appearance in 1988 was their first. As of 2020, they have not advanced past the second round of the tournament.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team has won 11 conference championships in its history. The team has won 5 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championships and 6 Metro Conference championships.

Baseball

Georgia Tech has 3 National Championships in Baseball. The first one was in 1994, the second in 2002, and the most recent in 2006.

NCAA Division I

Georgia Tech has won four NCAA Division I national championships in baseball. The Yellow Jackets have also been runner-up in the College World Series six times, most recently in 2006.

Conference Championships

Georgia Tech has won 40 conference championships in baseball. This is the second most of any school in the ACC, behind only Miami (FL) who has won 44.
