The georgia tech GPA Requirements

The Georgia Institute of Technology requires a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 for most programs. If your GPA is below a 3.0, you may still be eligible for admission if you have significant work experience or can demonstrate your ability to succeed academically through other means. The Overall GPA Requirement

To be eligible for admission to Georgia Tech, you must have completed the following high school coursework:
-4 English Credits
-4 Math Credits
-4 Science Credits
-3 Social Studies Credits
-2 Foreign Language Credits

In addition, you must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all high school coursework attempted.

The Core GPA Requirement

The GPA core curriculum requirement for Georgia Tech is a 2.5 GPA. The core curriculum is the set of courses required for all undergraduate students regardless of their major. The Subject GPA Requirement

The Subject GPA is the average of the grades received for all courses within a particular subject area (Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, etc.). Because admission to many programs is very competitive, meeting or exceed the minimums does not guarantee admission.

The Georgia Tech Admission Process

Georgia Tech requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 for admission. Admission to Georgia Tech is highly competitive, and the combination of strong academics, leadership, and service will increase your chances of admission.

The Early Action Admission Process

Georgia Tech Admissions offers two application deadlines: Early Action and Regular Decision. Both of these application plans have the same admission requirements, but they differ in when you must submit your application and when you will be notified of our decision. Please review the requirements below and decide which plan is best for you.

Early Action
If you are certain that Georgia Tech is your first choice, we encourage you to apply through our Early Action program. Applying Early Action will not put you at a disadvantage in the admissions process.
-You must submit a complete admissions application, including all required documents, by November 1.
-We will notify you of our admission decision by mid-December.
-If admitted, you will have until May 1 to accept our offer of admission and submit your enrollment deposit.”

The Regular Admission Process

In order to be considered for admission to Georgia Tech, you must submit an application. The Regular Admission process is for students who wish to be considered for admission to Georgia Tech on the basis of their high school grades and academic coursework.

You will need to submit the following:
-A completed application form
-An official high school transcript
-SAT or ACT scores (We do not require the Writing component of either test.)
-Two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors who can attest to your academic ability and personal character
-A non-refundable application fee of $75 (waived if you submit your application online)

The Georgia Tech Admission Requirements

The Core Admission Requirements

In order to be considered for admission to Georgia Tech, you must meet the following core requirements:

-A minimum SAT score of 1200 or a minimum ACT score of 26
-Completion of a college-preparatory curriculum that includes 4 years of English; 4 years of math (Algebra I or higher); 3 years of science; and 3 years of social studies
-Submission of a completed admissions application, including the non-refundable application fee

The Subject Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to Georgia Tech, you must complete the following courses prior to enrolling:
-4 years of English
-4 years of math (Algebra I or higher)
-3 years of science (2 years of natural science and 1 year of physical science)
-3 years of social studies
-2 years of the same foreign language

Additionally, we recommend that you challenge yourself by taking the most advanced coursework available to you. Georgia Tech does not have a minimum GPA requirement, but we do look at your high school GPA as well as your grades in college prep courses when making admission decisions.
