The original stadium, which cost $22,000 to build, opened on October 12, 1913 with 7,600 in attendance to watch Tech play Presbyterian College. It has been revised and renovated many times since its original construction, most recently in 2002 when it was reconfigured to its current seating capacity of 55,000.
